A conversation with Max Osiris on crypto art, artistic freedom, AI, psychedelics and why he believes art deserves better than marketing. We get into his journey through the space, what drives his work and where he thinks crypto art is heading next.

ince entering crypto art in 2018, Max has built a practice around experimentation, independence and doing things on his own terms. He's never been particularly interested in following the rules, whether that's how art should be made, how it should be sold, or who gets to decide what deserves recognition.
In our conversation, we talk about the experience that shaped his relationship with crypto art, the time he watched Van Gogh's The Starry Night come alive in front of him, and why he believes art deserves better than marketing. We also get into AI, psychedelics, the pressure to turn art into a business, and what gets lost when everything becomes a competition for attention.
From a pigeon that helps explain AI to a $50 painting of a kitten on a cupcake, Max has plenty to say about what art means and why we make it in the first place.
From making art to survive day by day in Los Angeles to questioning what the art world has become, Max continues to do things on his own terms. We're looking forward to seeing what he creates next.
